Snow White Movie Review

Today, I watched two movies that couldn’t be more different from each other. The first one was Disney’s live-action reboot of Snow White, which I saw in a Hindi-dubbed version at the theater. Unfortunately, the entire theater was almost empty, but later a few couples showed up. The second movie was Dragon, a Tamil film that made waves at the box office, and now it’s available on Netflix in Hindi. Both movies were worth the watch, but let’s dive into the details!

1. Snow White – A Live-Action Reboot from Disney

So, Snow White—we all know the classic animated version from Disney. But this is the live-action reboot, and it’s part of Disney’s current trend of turning all their animated classics into live-action versions. We’re talking movies like The Lion King, Aladdin, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and so on. It’s becoming a bit of a formula for them. Honestly, I wonder if they have any original ideas left, but let’s not get into that. These reboots are targeted at a new generation, many of whom may not have seen the original animated films.

In terms of the story, it’s about a princess named Snow White whose kingdom is taken over by an evil sorceress, played by the incredible Gal Gadot. Now, when I say incredible, I really mean it. But there was a moment when the magic mirror in the movie keeps telling the sorceress that Snow White is the fairest of them all, and I couldn’t help but think—If Snow White is that beautiful, then Gal Gadot must be on another level. I mean, c’mon, Gal is the definition of stunning!

Snow White Movie Review

As for the film, it’s a family-friendly musical fantasy drama, which means there’s a lot of singing and dancing throughout the movie. It’s very light-hearted and aimed primarily at children. The CGI, VFX, and animation were top-notch, and the voice-over in the Hindi-dubbed version was spot on. The characters were relatable, and the whole movie is entertaining for the entire family—kids, adults, and everyone in between.

For me, this movie was enjoyable but didn’t have the depth that would appeal to an older audience. Overall, I’d give this one 3 out of 5 stars.
